Makrud, Makrut, and Kaffir Lime leaves are other names for Makroot Lime leaves.
It's a must-have in Thai cuisine. It has a lemon flavour that is aromatic, flowery, and earthy. To unleash the flavour in soups, salads, or curries, remove the midrib of each leaf and crush or finely chop the rest.
The leaves and rind of the makrut lime are used in many Thai dishes to enhance citrus flavour and fragrance. These are also commonly used in Southeast Asian cuisine.
Usually added at the start of the cooking process – notably in tom yum soups – or at the end – as in some curries and spicy stir-fried meals. Makroot lime leaves are an important component in preparing famous dishes like panang curry.
